BBC Slams the Jim Rogers Hedge Fund

All bull markets come to an end, and this commodities bull market will also come to an end. During the next 10 years, the price of oil could easily go up to $200 per barrel, and the Jim Rogers hedge fund will profit accordingly. It might go higher. It will exceed everyone’s expectations.

It may sound great on TV and from politicians to blame the rise in prices on speculators, commodities traders, and firms like the Jim Rogers hedge fund, but if you don’t have investment in oil, then where is the oil going to come from? Oil doesn’t magically appear. Money must be invested into the industry.

The United States is the largest debtor nation in the history of the world. No country who has ever gotten itself into that situation has ever been able to get itself out without a crisis or a lot of problems.

American education is in a bubble. Sure the Ivy league schools are fun, but it now costs $400,000 to get a 4 year degree from Princeton. The Jim Rogers hedge fund spokesman says that it isn’t worth it any longer.

Go back and look at history. When a nation gets into this amount of debt, it always ends badly. And the debt is getting worse and worse. The head of the central bank in the United States knows nothing about currencies. If he doesn’t understand currencies, then no one else does either. The Dollar will lose its reserve status so, perhaps within the next 5 years.

Look at the numbers. There is no way, even in theory, that the United States can pay off its debt. It can inflate its way out of it, but that is just another method of default.

There is going to be a time in the foreseeable future when no one is going to want to carry paper money at all. Instead, people are going to be carrying gold or silver or maybe even sugar in their pockets, and the Jim Rogers hedge fund is leading the charge.

Politicians throughout the world have all learned how to buy votes. In order to do that, they debase the currency. You may worry about your children, but politicians only care about winning the next election. That isn’t good for the world.

The Jim Rogers hedge fund invests mainly in real assets. You might sell short emerging markets and the technology sector in the United States. The governments are bankrupt. Nobody is going to lend them money anymore. Companies are going to fail and countries are going to fail. There will be a lot of social unrest. It isn’t going to be easy for the next 20 or 30 years.
