In the book A Bull in China, there is a lot of good news for people looking for Jim Rogers invest advice. However, there are some things that can and will go wrong in China. But there are some great industries in China like agriculture and infrastructure. Then if you are interested in a particular industry, there is a snippet of a few companies that you can start with. But you shouldn’t just buy those companies because they are in the book; that isn’t how Jim Rogers invests. They are a starting place from which you can do more homework.

The cautionary tale about China is that you have to do a large amount of work. If you are interested in railroads in China, then you need to look at every railroad company. You should probably also understand a lot about the railroad industry in other countries so that you can understand the potential. Only then can you truly make a good Jim Rogers invest decision.

China is going to be like Japan in the 1970s, except in China the story could go on for a century. There were limiting factors in Japan. They didn’t have a very large population and not very many natural resources. China isn’t constrained by those things. There are limitations on China, but they have 100, 200, 300 years to go. China has had periods of time where they were brilliantly prosperous on the world stage, but they have also had periods of disaster.

In America in the 19th century, we endured a horrible civil war. there were 15 depressions. There weren’t many human rights. There was a corrupt political system. It was a debtor nation until the 20th century. Despite all that, America did a pretty good job. China will have setbacks like this, but they will do a good job as well, which is why most of Jim Rogers invest money has been going there. You always have particular countries in decline and others that are rising. Just because China is going to keep rising, it doesn’t mean that others have to fall. However, there have often been tensions throughout history when a new country is gaining in economic power that challenges the current world power structure.
